{UAH} Absolutely Strange but True Facts

These facts have two things in common. They are all bizarre, but true. And they are all completely random (which means do they really have that in common?). Have fun! This is not to be taken too seriously!
1. First off, did you know in Switzerland, you can actually be denied citizenship for "being too annoying"? Switzerland has some strange regulations when it comes to passports. Instead of being directly issued by the federal government, local residents can vote whether someone can become a citizen. In 2016, a family was denied citizenship because they wore sweatpants around town and did not greet their neighbors. In 2017, despite living in Switzerland since she was eight years old, Nancy Holten could not obtain citizenship because her neighbors found her "too annoying". Has anyone ever told you that you were "annoying"?

2. In their best-selling book, "Everything Men Know About Women" Dr. Alan Francis and collaborator Cindy Cashman distill years of research and thousands of interviews to reveal the most comprehensive understanding of men's knowledge and understanding of the opposite sex. First published in 1988, this book has sold over 1.5 million copies, and has been updated and revised to keep up with the changing times. The 128 page book is, of course, completely BLANK. Do you appreciate this humorous idea for a book?

3. In 1987 the avant-garde composer John Cage wrote a piece of keyboard music called "Organ²/ASLSP." The score is eight pages long. But Cage left an unusual instruction for those who wanted to perform it: "As Slow As Possible." One performer played it at 29 minutes, another at 71 minutes and another at 8 hours. One performance lasted 14 hours and 56 minutes. But in 2001, a group of Cage lovers decided to do them one better. They built a special organ, put it in a run-down medieval church in the town of Halberstadt, Germany, and announced that they were going to play "Organ ²/ASLSP" really, really slowly — over a period of 639 years. Only 12 chord or note changes have occurred since 2001. The performance is scheduled to conclude in 2640. If you were visiting this town in Germany, would you perhaps visit the church to possibly (although very unlikely) hear a chord change?

4. James Fuller Fixx was an American who wrote the 1977 best-selling book "The Complete Book of Running". He is credited with helping start America's fitness revolution by popularizing the sport of running and demonstrating the health benefits of regular jogging. Ironically, Fixx died in 1984, at age 52 of a heart attack, during his daily run. Do you enjoy jogging?
