{UAH} What are the pros and cons of living in each Canadian province? Which province would you say has the best quality of life (not necessarily financially)?

BRITISH COLUMBIA

Pros - Lovely weather. Good mixed economy (finance, mining and timber). Wonderful scenery.

Cons - Horrendously expensive.

ALBERTA

Pros - Good economy. Cheapest cost of living for major urban areas.

Cons - Horrendous weather. No economic diversity - economy crashes every time the cost of crude oil goes down.

SASKATCHEWAN

Pros - Decent cost of living.

Cons - Limited economy (mining, agriculture). Bad weather. Isolated.

MANITOBA

Pros - Decent cost of living

Cons - Limited economy (mining, agriculture). Very bad weather.

ONTARIO

Pros - Economic powerhouse. Central location

Cons - Horrendously expensive and getting worse.

QUEBEC

Pros - Diverse economy, lowest housing prices in the country, amazing culture

Cons - Bad winter weather (summers are nice), low wages, small houses close together.

NOVA SCOTIA

Pros - Decent weather, friendly, decent housing costs

Cons - Not much of an economy to speak of.

NEW BRUNSWICK

Pros - Quiet, decent housing costs

Cons - Economy is run by two companies (oil & potatoes).

PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND

Pros - Beautiful

Cons - Housing isn't terribly cheap. Not much of an economy. It's actually the most densely populated province.

NEWFOUNDLAND

Pros - Affordable, good community spirit

Cons - Economically depressed. Very isolated.

The winner - Quebec. Amazing culture and decent housing prices, plus excellent food. You just need to pick up enough French to get by.
