Pam Bondi tells Jasmine Crockett to ‘tread carefully’ as Democratic rep plans ‘Global Day of Action’ against Tesla

Attorney General Pam Bondi cautioned Rep. Jasmine Crockett Sunday to “tread very carefully” with her plans to target Tesla boss Elon Musk over his crusade to shrink the federal government. 

Last week, Crockett (D-Texas) addressed a virtual rally for the “Tesla Takedown” movement and heralded its plans for a “Global Day of Action” this coming weekend to protest the electric car company. 

“She is an elected public official, so she needs to tread very carefully, because nothing will happen to Elon Musk, and we are going to fight to protect all the Tesla owners throughout this country,” Bondi told Fox News Channel’s “Sunday Morning Futures.”

Tesla Takedown bills itself as a “peaceful protest platform” encouraging Tesla owners to sell their cars and stock in the company to protest Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). 

“On March 29, it’s my birthday,” Crockett, 43, cheered during the virtual rally. “All I want to see happen on my birthday is for Elon to be taken down.”AD

“I have learned, as I serve on the DOGE Oversight committee, that there is only one language that the people that are in charge understand right now, and that language is money.”

During her remarks, Crockett claimed that her rhetoric called for “nonviolent” action against Tesla and her language about “fighting” was figurative.

“We know that we are peaceful, loving people, and this is not about violence,” she underscored.

On Sunday, Crockett responded to Bondi’s warning and reiterated that she is not calling for violence against Tesla. 

“I just want to say that I have never promoted violence whatsoever,” she told MSNBC’s “Alex Witt Reports.” “Yet, I’ve also never made excuses for those violent actors, such as the ones on January 6th. So Pam Bondi, if you have an issue with terrorism, maybe you should talk to your boss about locking back up those guys that he let out that participated in January 6th.”

At least three suspects have been hit with federal charges following a spate of violence against Tesla dealerships and charging stations since Trump’s inauguration Jan. 20.

Bondi has threatened that those arrested in connection with the attacks will face “domestic terrorism” charges that could carry up to 20 years in prison.

“People need to know, the three people in custody right now, they will receive severe and swift consequences,” Bondi stressed. “We are not negotiating these. We are not coming off these charges. We are looking at everything, especially if this is a concerted effort.”
