"Amin tried to fight for the truth but later failed because of Nyerere and the Whites who wanted Obote back.'' - Mzee Boniface Byanyima, one of Uganda's pioneer pre-independence politicians, and former national chairman of Uganda's Democratic Party on Sunday 12th August 2012.
Mzee Byanyima passed away yesterday at Nakasero Hospital.
President Amin knew him personally and respected him as a genuine pro-African politician. May his family and the country recover from this monumental loss of a national elder and statesman, and on behalf of the Amin family, I pray that his soul rests in eternal peace!
