{UAH} NAMBOZE MAKES RUGUNDA JOB EASY

NAMBOOZE RAISES THE PLIGHT OF BISHOPS.
Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze, has asked government to assure
her and the Roman Catholic and Protestant communities that the
Metropolitan Arch Bishop of Kampala Arch Diocese Dr. Cyprian Kizito
Lwanga and the Bishop pf Namirembe Diocese Kityo Luwalira are safe.
This was in parliament this evening following an incident when the
Arch Bishop made two utterances, during way of the cross on Good
Friday, and on Easter Sunday sermon at St. Mary's Cathedral Rubaga
where he said that his life was in danger, following what he called
government informers whom, he claimed had reported him to the
President claiming that he was plotting to overthrow government, just
like the late Arch Bishop of Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Mboga Zaire,
the late Jenan Luwum.
Nambooze also said that on the same day at Namirembe, an intruder,
almost finished off bishop Luwalira.
She wanted an explanation from government and an assurances that the
bishops would be protected.
The Prime Minister Ndugu Ruhakana Rugunda affirmed this, and
parliament resumed with its normal business.
