{UAH} UGANDA'S DISAPPEARED MORAL COMPASS

We have to be really careful with morality. Morality is relative.

I am impressed though with Ugandans expressive veracity even though is
still crude and overtly frivolous. That is their world anyway. Radio
talk shows are dominated with; Sports (football], guarded politics,
Sexual relations and petty talk a mixture of music, God, fun
making/drama)

Uganda politicians on another hand are on a steep learning curve how
to handle three issues: freedom, individual yearning and collective
responsibility.

Ugandans in general have the required freedoms to a limited extent and
their individual yearnings of whatever shade or form. However, there
is virtually no collective responsibility - moral base.

The state and I have to repeat this has made some mistakes. It is
ideological. Many youth and adults alike have got no community
responsibility or direction since what would have brought them
together i.e. political organisations are diametrical to Uganda
government political ideology.

As such young people who are no longer under the watch of their
parents overwhelmed by their yearnings are uncontrollably becoming
wild to the extent of committing rare fits of criminality only known
in the European world.

It is at the deepest level (helplessness) – individual (human)
capacity failings, which in this meaning, the state believe the
judiciary and law enforcement alone, can bring morals home.

Uganda is not a welfare state.

Many people have no support and can't see themselves falling in a
bottomless pit. They rather commit suicide and criminality. Indeed
majority prisoners in Uganda today are youth and majority court case
today are family related!

Failure for the state to understudy and grasp the issues is catastrophic.
