[UAH] N.R.A was a bleak army
The National Resistance Army (NRA) which deposed the Okellos after
years of rebellion against President Obote was ragtag indeed. Scoring
big in 1986 was an unlikely dream indeed. Think of how having bases in
Kampala (Makindye, Gayaza, etc), rather than head straight to the
objective in Nakasero, took a tortuous detour to Masaka and the
Luweero enclave. Ought to have stormed the "Bastille" in a bolt.
Instead something of a few hours took 5years and a sea of lives.
After a few years of being at the helm rifts sprouted. Should have had
a vision of working together as "blood relations" for at least 50years
without telling everyone how opportunistically they hoodwinked
themselves enough to put one another's life at risk but find it a hard
nut tolerating and serving in harmony. That's worse for the NRA
spirit. Was this whole thing a bad gamble?
