[UAH] Death of a Ugandan Lawyer my sister Christine Nabakooza Kaluma
It is with much sorrow that I announce the death of my senior sister Christine Nabakooza Kaluma - She was a great contributor to Uganda's struggle for political maturity and the liberation of women. She went to Gayaza High School and Makerere University - she passed the Law Bar in both Uganda and Nigeria and was one of the first women lawyers to graduate at the Law Development Centre in Uganda. She worked as a state attorney in Nigeria at the request of President Obasanjo and she also worked as an attorney for Chief Abiola's concord press in Nigeria. She was appointed by President Museveni to be the Director of Youth - a job she performed with diligence and authored the policy in use - regarding the Direction of Youth In Uganda. She also was one of the co-founders of FIDDA - a women advocacy group in Uganda. She will be sorely missed by family and friends!
