Population and Size

The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is the nation's fourth largest metropolitan area and home to more than six million residents, almost two million of them first- and second-generation Americans. One million are schoolchildren, and more than 161,600 are college and university students.

Industry

Dallas ranks sixth in the number of Fortune 500 company headquarters and is the fifth largest media market in the United States. Texas is tied second with New York and after California, from forth position a couple of years ago

Dallas ranks number five among metropolitan areas in charitable giving.

Transportation

DFW International Airport, serving nearly 60 million passengers a year, connects Dallas and Fort Worth directly with 144 U.S. markets and 50 international destinations. Love Field, 5 minutes from the Omni, is the home of Southwest Airlines, which serves seven million passengers annually and will offer nonstop flights nationwide in 2014.

Dallas offers top-tier museums and performance facilities, including the AT&T Performing Arts Center, Meyerson Symphony Center, Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center, Perot Museum of Nature and Science and SMU's Meadows Museum.
