[UAH] GOMBA'S MAY BE THE BEST LC 5 BOSS AROUND
Mr. Abdu Kyabangi's people relations skills are remarkable. He gets
along with residents like a bird gliding to its comfy perch. A day on
field duty reveals a man at peace with voters, natural affinity to his
job and presence at the far corners of administrative reach, just the
right ingredients for star mobilisation for development. If all
workers and leaders loved their jobs and served with glee, there is
absolutely no excuse for a disconnect from top to bottom. Gomba is a
baby district with plenty of land, despicable roads, fair security,
strategic location and influential sons and daughters in Kampala.
The missing link is a "pipe line" of ideas to keep the flow of
demands/pledges matching with delivery and timely accountability.
Kyabangi makes grass-root leadership attractive. Nasty thing though;
LC 5 chairpersons earn Shs2million monthly and never get free cars,
yet embedding within the people renders them pivotal cadres in the
development agenda. This role is erroneously shifted to MPs on the
strength of their love for pavement attention,and little else.
