[UAH] Aisha kabanda:Remy Wamala's Death

Congratulations sister Aisha. No woman or baby deserves to die while in labour and I must say that our health care system is probably among the worst in the world at the moment.

I'm not sure about mulago but all I know is that it is worse than the private clinics. As a result, most of the middle class in Uganda take their families to private hospitals because things are bad in our traditional big referral hospitals.

Someone suggested recently that treatment for common diseases becomes standardised in terms of cost but I don't think this is gonna help as well. As long as the government is not willing to double its efforts on improving the health system in the country, all these policies will just remain on a paper. The rich will keep seeking treatment abroad and the poor will keep dying of preventable diseases such as malaria.

Congs once again. May Allah protect the little one inishallah!

Parliament has debated Remedy's case and FIDA Uganda has taken on Remy's case to offer free legal service against IHK but Remy's family will never be the same.  Remy's case has been given prominence because she was lucky to work with an organization associated to Parliament; one wonders what about the fate of the many women who die because of the negligence of the medical workers.

IHK? I have serious reservations about how they go about their business. There are so many cases that have been covered up because some people just decide not to expose them.
My wife gave birth to our first kid...It was hell for her at IHK. She ended up in ICU for close to four weeks.

Brothers and sisters, sorry to what happened to our sister, may the Almighty Allah haver mercy on her.
Thanks for Aisha Nalule for a successful delivery of a baby. Although my first daughter (Khadeejah Naabateregga) died in Mulago, of Measles, in 1993, there has been improvement. My wife's last daughter born on New Year Day of 2008, was to be done at the hospital affiliated to Kampala International Hospital, but we were advised to stick to our traditional Nsambya Hospital where previous deliveries have been done and it was successful.
l think Dr. Clarke should have remained in medical practice, ever since, he joined politics, patients complain.

On Thursday 27th June, 36 year old Remmy Wamala Nanono drove to International Hospital Kampala expecting her 4th child little did she know, it was her last journey on earth. Dr Ronald Kisolo, a relative to the deceased says upon arrival at IHK, Doctors there said Nanono's cervix had opened up to four 4 centimeters. This was good enough for a Doctor to tell whether Nanono would have normal delivery or a caesarian section.
