{UAH} Drunko MP Kyamadidi Speaks Out On His ‘Return’ From Suspension

Rwampara Member of Parliament Vicent Kyamadidi Mujuni on Sunday ended the three months suspension that was given to him by his National Resistance Movement (NRM) Party on grounds that he drunk himself stupid and turned into a public nuisance.

On Tuesday evening he was privileged to give a maiden speech on the floor of Parliament and he confirmed that he had completed the punishment administered by his party which he subscribes to and owes allegiance.

He noted that the Party had required him not to participate in NRM activities and also more importantly not to participate in committees of Parliament.

Kyamadidi described his suspension period as very challenging but also intriguing.

He however said that as an obedient servant of Uganda who was meant to serve his people, he thought it was right for him to serve the punishment.

He told fellow MPs who were continuously teasing him that it was a very great experience for him and thanked the Speaker for granting him the opportunity to share with Parliament and the Nation about it.

He explained that it was particularly hard especially in the event that he had a constituency to serve and where some people would go on air and say that he had been suspended. He added that it took him a lot of effort to explain to the voters and the country that he was not suspended from parliament but the Party.

He thanked Rwampara voters for standing by him and on a lighter note thanked those who think that they are always right and that others are wrong.

Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga on behalf of the whole house welcomed him back and wished him a good tenure.

Kyamadidi's suspension was announced by NRM's Secretary General Amama mbabazi together with the definite suspensions of four MPs regarded as rebel MPs Theodre Sekikubo of Lywemiyaga, Barnabas Tinkasimire of Buyaga East, Wilfred Niwagaba representing Ndorwa West and Muhammed Nsereko MP Kampala Central.
