[UAH] The Fuss of Europe About American Spying

In this Forum many many times I have seen America blamed for Spying on Europe. Many Europeans see disclosure of American spying as arrogance and unaccountable bully just another episode in a story that includes an illegal war in Iraq, drone strikes, water-boarding etc. Some Europeans want punitive response. This is the greatest hypocrisy. For example France has formidable foreign Intelligence services that spy on America for political gain.

Actually much of the Intelligence that America gathers especially  in counter-terrorism is shared with Europe. Besides America's security umbrella allows European countries to feel safe for instance from future Russian aggression while spending little on Defence. Most  Europeans  take the umbrella for granted. And most Americans thing Europenas are wobbly tiresome free riders and loaders that flirt with dictatorship and leak secrets to the Chinese. The point is Europe has more to gain from Americas capability than anyone else.

This reminds me of African governments. When there is hunger or natural calamity  (e.g Ethiopia, Somalia, Chad, Darfur etc) they run to America and then turn around and blame America. Just like their European masters.
