MASS DEMON TO ROCK KAMPALA ON 15TH AUGUST 2013
Uganda youth plans mass demos on Musevi birth, 15th August 2013

Kampala- Ugandan youth are planning mass protests on 15th August to concede with president Museveni's birth day. According to demo organizers these demos will be carried out all over Uganda with its base in Kampala Uganda on a location that Uganda police has usually declared illegal for general public. " We have planned these demos to ask our dear long serving president to give way for new blood as he has failed to tackle basic things that all Ugandans want" said Uganda Twofivesix. One of the organizers  says they want a president who can stop corruption, bring in employment to all legible Ugandans, develop infrastructure and stop sectarianism. Asked for how long these demos will take they say they will take as long as the president gives way.  According to our police sources these demos have not been approved and they are not aware so they are illegal. The group claims they expect least 700,000 people on Kampala city Square alone.

On numerous occasions Ugandan police has come out strongly and quashed all demos in the country be it political, social or economically oriented ones. President Yoweri Museveni and police boss Gen Kale Kayihura have in the past accused opposition leaders particularly Col Kizza Besigye of using the widely publicized 'walk to work' protests as a platform to topple the NRM government. The riots paralysed business in Kampala for several weeks as heavily armed security forces engaged opposition activists in deadly running battles. The army and police triumphed. Museveni was later to praise Kayihura for blocking Besigye's plans to overthrow the government. He also rewarded the police chief with the rank of General which the latter celebrated on Kampala streets.

According to organizers this time round, these protests have not been organised by politicians or activists but elite Ugandans mostly civil servants and business men and women with majority of organizers being University students, recent graduates and secondary school students whom are known to lead most successful revolutions in the world.
