Today reminds me of the start of the dark days in Lango. When militias from Labwordwong attacked Lira. It was on July 24, 1985 when Lira was attacked by militias from Labwordwong led by one Otim Ojuku. Another force came by train from Gulu. Lira was then looted clean and several people killed. The first casualty was a journalist, son of Mr Adilo.

Christopher Adilo (RIP) He died a true Hero though no importance was attached to his death as every one was on the run...May he R.I.P

Then came Jo-moo(cel ibong) Vs NRA around 1986-87 and d bombing of Bahgdad restaurant opp Lira market(a girl died).

Our mothers were raped in the presence of their children, newly born babies used as sticks to beat people until they died, several shops were looted, Lira hotel smeared with pupu, electricity wires used for hanging their clothes, ...talk of LRA war again in late 1980s until 2007 when M7 rescued the people of Lango again from the same brutal attack by the same tribe? ..................imagine smearing late Dr.Apollo's room at Lira hotel with pupu, using electricity wire to hang their clothes.

Lira is like Jerusalem, It has gone through a lot but God keep rebuilding it, Uganda will may ignore it but it still emerges itself.God bless the glorious Lira city.the major conflicts of the world gave birth to some big organizations like the UN and others. Technology was able to grow very fast because of those conflicts too. Now, how can we use the past and current conflicts between Acholi and Langi to improve our communities?
