{UAH} George Agaba back at KCCA
Formerly interdicted Physical Planning Director George Agaba is back in office at Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA).
Mr Agaba was accused along with his bodyguard, Santos Komakech Makmot, of shooting and killing one person and injuring five others during a KCCA eviction exercise in Luzira in January 2012. The operation was to demolish illegal structures.
Mr Agaba was apparently reinstated after going to court to prove he acted within the law during the eviction exercise that was caught on camera.
Mr Agaba and Mr Makmot were cleared of the murder charges by Nakawa High Court presided over by Justice Faith Mwondha.
KCCA spokesperson Robert Kalumba confirmed the development, saying KCCA had interdicted him for the charges he was facing and when they were cleared, he returned to office.
Mr Kalumba says Mr Agaba has been in office for over three months now.
KCCA Executive Director Jennifer Musisi says that the Authority is only complying with the law in regard to Agaba as he does not have a case to answer.
