Kenya: Keep Off Kalonzo and Raila, Says Kalembe
12 AUGUST 2013Former MP Kalembe Ndile has accused the government of practicing double standards in regards to the cars and security plans for former PM Raila Odinga and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka.
Kalembe questioned why Raila and Kalonzo were being humiliated in public yet they contributed to the growth of democracy in Kenya.
"Mama Ngina Kenyatta has been accorded state security, former Vice President Kijana Wamalwa's widow still enjoys state privileges, former Vice President Moody Awori still enjoys state vehicles and security, now we wonder, why are they mistreating Raila and Kalonzo?," Kalembe asked.
He made the statement at the funeral of Mzee Julius Kibwana Maingi, the father of Makueni County Governor Prof Kivutha Kibwana in Taita Taveta on Saturday.
The former Kibwezi MP told President Uhuru Kenyatta to explain to Kenyans why the Cord leaders are being treated like unwanted foreigners.
Kalonzo asked the government to speed up the awarding of the contract to construct the Voi-Taveta road.
Kalonzo said he will work for peace and stability of this country because that is the only way Kenya will grow.
"We need a unity of purpose in this country and moreso God,s intervention to stabilise the nation and bring prosperity," he said.
