NRM, NOTU - A Gross Waste of Human Life and Time
One interested in the debacle that characterises African nations – Uganda will be a practical test specimen.
NRM came spiting fire – they will leave having grossly messed up the entire nation.
NRM is the bastion of thuggerly and theft in this country. NRM has the largest youth population that only wait for NRM meetings to earn a living! These youth have neither a permanent job nor daily activity. They whole depend on NRM handouts.
One needs to study these youth and corruption tendencies in society. Since they are connected that it must be that corruption originates from within this idle group of NRM youth.
Basically Uganda government has about 500'000 million workers, part of it are ghost workers as in case of; teachers, soldiers, and health workers. Uganda government workers, is largely this group made up of; soldiers, policemen/women, teachers and health workers. These are the pensioned people out of the suspicious 35 million people.
This same group too is the most corrupt and largely 98% of money stolen from state coffers one of the above ½ million people is involved.
Equally, these are the worst paid people, besides those working with KCCA, URA, UIA etc. This is NRM middle-income group, the wealthy few to propel the growth of the economy.
Lately, Uganda's economy is on the rocks. This can be clearly seen from the amount of :
a. Auctions taking place
b. Banking sector decreasing profit
c. Increased foreign presence in every sector of the economy as local one collapses
d. Land and housing estates changing hands
e. Low production capacity of local industry
NOTU
The national organisation of trade unions has been equally a useless organ. It's allegedly corrupt to say the least. It is also alleged that it has never taken any single company to the labour court for exploiting and violating workers. People who do not work in government entities, if they earn 200'000 shilling or less (some earn less than100'000 UGX) monthly, you will find people paid only 30'000 shilling a month, in a period of four or five month!
People earning irregularly will automatically steal. The labour turn out will be high. Implying most of the firms and companies in Uganda are totally unproductive and inefficient. People have to seek other means of a livelihood, so they work at one station one or at least four month and then leave!
Most of these Uganda workers; have no pension, work contracts, medical insurance or guarantees. They are at their employers mercy.
NOTU has never stood anywhere to demand efficient wages for Uganda workers. There is no standard wages in Uganda. So what will Sheraton, Serena, state house, sudir, kirumira pay his workers?
Those how have observed this phenomenon especially in Uganda's it is so rampant in the so called
- Tertiary institutions; Private Colleges, Schools, and Universities
- Private Health Care facilities
- Wholesale Trading companies
- Transport Sector
- Retail businesses like super markets that will be absorbing large student population
That is NOTU for you.
People are working in very bad and poor environments. The state doesn't now if it does since NOTU is equally dead – no one cares what happens! Especially those working in Indian and Chinese factories or companies. Indians it is alleged, rape or force young women into sex.
Cooperatives
NRM killed off so cooperatives, and they modernised primitivity. The farmers and nrm peasants are equally badly off. With bump crop production – you can't imagine the farmer's loses. They go into billions of shilling. I have no doubt in my mind, Uganda agricultural potential is only by luck!
With dry spells, there is no backup strategy -
