{UAH} SATURDAY, AUG 3rd, A DAY TO REMEMBER - THANK YOU, JOHNSON MUJUNGU

In a moment, I am folding tent and closing camp to return to my lively city of Montreal but before I do I would want to share my yesterday Saturday with my fellow Baboons - Orangutans may as well partake of this one-day moment to remember as they are known to snitch into knowing every discussion going on in the Baboon community.

Yesterday, Saturday, I finally met a man I have long respected and become friends with for years and years without seeing each other and gone on to plan a couple of national and international activities where we didnt get to meet either. It was indeed a pleasure meeting Johnson Mujungu at, of all places, my nephew, Morris Komakech's crib in Toronto where he had popped to visit before heading afield for the Great Toronto Caribana festival.

We did some damage to the whiteman's drinks and talked Uganda politics and culture at such great lengths Museveni would behead us (Islam style) if got any recordings of the same. Mujungu, current president of Banyakigezi, is perhaps the most friendly and interesting Mukiga anyone can meet and talk to - a very charming character. Banyakigezi just completed its annual gathering here in Toronto

Well, needless to say, he wasnt that threatening mega-sized figure I expected from seeing his friend photos on FB right from the time I subscribed to the social group but left me wonder what a midget our UAH's Kiga Bwoy, Allan, could be and already I know the most famous Kiga man, the PM, Mba,is a dwarfy vertically disadvantaged gentlemen only big behind his office desk. Lol.

If you are still wondering why and how this Mujungu Mukiga was visiting Komakech Acholi, my neph, you will even wonder why the long bee-line crossing from extreme North to extreme South-West of the motherland, and here comes the purposeful twist. Morris, is betrothed to a lovely intelligent Kiga medical researcher, Mackie (a complete Xerox copy of the loud-mouth twit we know as Kansiime) and are expecting Komakech Jr in a few weeks.

It was a great moment in knowing that Mujungu and Mackie knew each other, both being members of the Kiga intellectual high society. But even more it was a rejoice meeting his wife, Grace, whose name tends to overwrite his in every instance. Grace, I was whispered to, is of Malawian origin - quite a beau.

Now, i too, happen to be with Kiga Bwoy, Allan's Southern neighbour across the border - always my ever-smiling sidekick. Baffled yet? Hollie cow...! Mine is Rwandese realtor and No, I will never do the Kikaawa on her. That creepy idea and tendency is only for a certain people we flew over and rammed through during the beeline journey due South-West from North.

In this impromptu meet over chicken, fried curry beans, ugali, rice veggies and beef, we ranted truckloads of social topics but in closing we all had to agree on one perplexing and unavoidable convenience and that was the soon to be new addition to the Komakech family who is Komakech Jnr himself. Item of discussion on the table was whether this dude will be regarded as an Acholi or a Mukiga. Naturally one would have expected him to be a dominant Acholi by all means but no. The parents were at a deadlock. Each ethnicity had its own serious advantages and prides and no one seemed to agree on sharing ethnicity either between Kiga and Acholi except he be compelled to acknowledge only one.

Solution: You will even be more perplexed by the neutral compromise and how 2 Acholi men, 1 Kiga man and their 1 Kiga woman, 1 Malawian and 1 Rwandese conquests quickly reached the compromise. It was agreed by all that the baby will be a Munyoro. I dont even know who made the suggestion but it was one of those conquests. Surprisingly, both parents agreed to render Komakech Jnr a Munyoro.

Thus ended the my meeting with Mr Johnson Mujungu on this memorable high note.

To Johnson Mujungu,

THANK YOU MUKHO AND BROTHER. IT WAS A GREAT ZILLION PLEASURES FINALLY ATTACHING HUMANITY TO YOUR NAME AND THE MANY PICTURES OF YOU AND GRACE ON FACE BOOKS. WE HAVE A LIFE TO LIVE AND IT IS SUCH A GREAT FEELING KNOWING YOU ARE AND WILL ALWAYS BE THERE WHEN WE NEED ONE ANOTHER.

As for Mackie, just trust and know that she is in Safe Hands - not Safe House.

ABUNDANT BLESSINGS TO YOU, GRACE AND FAMILY FROM ME AND JOCIE UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN and remember, EVEN A SMALL DOG CAN PISS ON A TALL BUILDING.

Gotta pack.
