Uganda: Mbarara 70-Year-Old Man Kills Wife Over Cheating

Police in Mbarara have arrested 70-year-old George Rwomuzano for allegedly murdering his wife Mbabazi Kapere, 28, for cheating on him.

The south western Region Police spokesperson, Polly Namaye, has confirmed the arrest, saying Rwomuzano reportedly hacked his wife to death.

"As soon as he realized he had killed his wife he reported himself to the police post at Rubindi," she said.

The Sunday incident occurred as Mbabazi was returning from Nombe in Kashare Kashari Mbarara district. Rwomuzano said he caught his wife red-handed in bed with another man.

"I did this out of anger, I caught my wife red-handed with a man, when I tried to cut him, he dodged the panga and accidentally killed my wife," Rwomuzano said.
