{UAH} UNAA Dallas 2013 Welcomes Twegaite to UNAA's Silver Jubilee

The 2013 Basoga Twegaite Convention that took place earlier this year during the memorial weekend in Los Angeles was a truly wonderful event that featured an incredible amount of positive information about the past, present and future of Busoga.

Twegaite will be fundraising for a project to build a Cancer Wing at Jinja Hospital at the upcoming UNAA Convention in Dallas, Texas as well as participating in a Health Forum discussion with other health sector stakeholders including the Minister of Health from Uganda on Sunday, September 1st; Noon – 2 pm at the Omni Downtown Dallas Hotel.

Twegaite continues to advance its mission of providing health needs for Busoga Region. Through your donation we hope to see many lives changed for the better.

The goal of the Basoga community of California is to continue to make a difference in the health of the people of Uganda starting with the people of Busoga. With the help of donations from supporters such as you we will continue to see health improvements in the region and Uganda as a whole

The cancer center is critical in alleviating the much dreaded disease across Uganda and also provides a palliative care unit, screening center as well as a laboratory testing center used for various tests across East Africa. The center will eventually have a cancer education institute.

Because of the criticality of this center, there was a parliamentary delegation sent to augment the Twegaite convention and see that the cancer center plan is developed further and therefore this initiative has garnered support in Uganda to the highest level.

Later in 2014 there will be a ground breaking ceremony for the $ 5 M first phase.
