{UAH} Nominee for the position of UNAA's Director of Communications

Dear UNAA Members and Friends of UNAA,

I am happy to announce the UNAA Executive's nominee for the position of Director of Communications.

The UNAA Executive has nominated Mr. Timothy Gaburungyi, for the position of UNAA Director of Communications.

 

We believe that Mr. Timothy Gaburungyi has vast experience in UNAA and indeed his footprint across UNAA is hard to miss. He is the right person to serve as UNAA's Spokesperson to the media and public.

 

Below is Tim's biography;

 

Mr. Tim Gaburungyi joined UNAA in 2006 soon after arriving in the United States. That same year he was tapped to join a committee which drafted and submitted UNAA's proposals for diaspora voting.

 

In 2007 he was appointed Chairman of UNAA's Audit committee which drafted UNAA's Code of Ethics and Conduct. Later that year he offered himself as a UNAA Vice Presidential Candidate.

 

In 2008, Tim served as the Chairman of the Programs and Forums Committee for the successful UNAA 2008 Orlando convention and then moved on to become the Chairman of the 2009 UNAA Electoral Commission.

 

In 2010 he served as a member of the Constitutional Review Committee which finally modernized UNAA's Constitution. 

 

In 2011 Tim was appointed as UNAA's first Director of Development where he drafted and implemented a development strategy which gave UNAA a new brand image, grew its marketing capability and enhanced member management capabilities. 

 

In between his formal roles within UNAA, Tim has always volunteered to help and has earned the reputation of a dependable and trusted go-to-person.

Tim, an Engineer and Certified Project Management Professional by training, is an hotelier for Starwood Hotels and Resorts. He is married with two children and lives in Danbury, Connecticut. In his spare time Tim is an avid photographer.

Mr. Gaburungyi's particulars and record have been forwarded to the Speaker, Eng. Nicholas Wakou, and Members of the UNAA Council for vetting and confirmation.

I look forward to Tim's quick confirmation, as our Director of Communications who we think will be a good addition to start UNAA work on day one.
