UPC attacks Gov't over Refugees
Uganda People's Congress has warned the Government of the Republic of Uganda against making Uganda a dumping place for refugees.
Speaking to journalists at the party head quarters in Kampala ,UPC Vice president Joseph Bbosa noted that Uganda entered an agreement with the government of Israel so as to harbor close to 50,000 refugees for the exchange of ammunitions.
"Though the government of Uganda has tried to deny these allegations but this is an important issue which requires the government to come out and explain to the people whether the allegations are right or wrong, ''explained Bbosa.
Bbosa therefore questioned the ability of Uganda to host refugees yet its own citizens are suffering under poor conditions.
The UPC vice president further warned that Uganda is for the president and the ruling NRM party.
''The country is not a dumping place and therefore Ugandans should be consulted first before this move," asserted Bbosa.
This comes in days after People's Development Party president Abed Bwanika came out and lashed at parliament to clarify on the increasing number of refugees in the country who Bwanika said were becoming a security threat.
