{UAH} White South African family tries poverty living in black neighborhood
Folks;
There are several ways to read this experiment by a middle-class white family who moves in a poverty-ridden black neighborhood to experience hardship firsthand.
But it all reminds of a little story I heard two weeks ago:
A kennel society had an African and American dogs exchange places. After the exchange program came to an end, the dogs returned home. Asked about his experience in America, the African dog couldn't stop heaping praises about how well he was treated: sleeping in bed, eating all the time, getting vet attention as he needed.
The American dog was also asked to share his experience. He started, "First of all, until I went to Africa, I didn't even know I was a dog!"
The white couple and their toddlers may mean well, but I doubt if they will learn anything.
