NRM Critic Tom Voltaire Okwalinga releases Document showing Tax Evasion  Crusader CEO Andrew Mwenda could be involved in the Vice

NRM critic who goes by the name Tom Voltaire Okwalinga on social media today brought forth Andrew Mwenda’s possible involvement in tax evasion. Mwenda is the CEO of The Independent and he is most known for his inflammatory opinions.

What most stands out however is Mwenda’s hate and advocacy against corruption in Uganda. However, Okwalinga today released a document that insinuates that Mwenda could have been the recipient of 200,000USD from the ministry of Finance in Rwanda.

The story though is the fact that the money was to be transferred directly to his account in Barclays Bank London. Okwalinga claims Mwenda opened up this account during his school days in London.

What is saddening is the fact that if it is true that Mwenda  evaded quite a lump sum in taxes, then he has falsely led us to believe that he is the man to fight the vice. Okwalinga pointed out how Steven Kiprotich’s prize money was taxed by URA yet he had made his country proud But Mwenda, the anti-corruption voice in Uganda was using back doors to avoid paying taxes.
