Michael Jackson AEG Trial: Verdict Reached

The decision of the jury of six men and six women following a five-month trial in Los Angeles will be announced later tonight.

Jackson's family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against AEG Live in connection with the hiring Dr Conrad Murray before the singer's planned comeback concerts.

The disgraced medic was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for giving Jackson an overdose of the surgical anaesthetic propofol in 2009.

The star had been due to start a series of 50 comeback concerts in London.

Jackson's mother Katherine claimed AEG Live should have done a thorough background check on Murray.

The company denied hiring Murray and said he had been picked by the star as the doctor for his upcoming shows.

The singer's son Prince, ex-wife Debbie Rowe and mother Katherine took the stand during a brutal examination of his life and death.
