{UAH} Music , Drugs, Religion and Enjoyment
Now if you scrutinise data on youth and violent crimes in the US (which you can find on
the web): murder, forced rape, robbery, and assault, narcotic drugs plays major cause.
Mark you there is also enough data showing that higher school leaves (children not yet
18 years) a good number have test drugs.
It is not an a prior assumption, for there is more than enough data about youth deaths in
Europe. In the largest part of Europe, the number one killer of young people is suicide.
Data shows these suicide cases are generated, and please note the word generated from a
combination of depression and/or lack of enough satisfaction with life (enjoyment and
celebration of life) and drug miss use.

The question is Why?
The question is loaded for we have to understand what enjoyment is all about. In Africa
for example, different types of drugs are mainly consumed by the old folk to keep them alert. Just a few years ago drug use among the youth was uncommon. Is hallucination part of the enjoyment?
Here we have different interpretations. Remember one of the most attractive activities
for youth world over today, thanks to the music television, is music of all categories.
Behind the music world you find a dark world of drug abuse.
Need I elaborate on that too?
By the way, the best place to learn and practice music is in the church! They practice and
sign freely. I did quite a lot of music training in my youthful years in Northern
Europe in the church, though I failed to become a musician!
This is (might be) at variance with what let us say happens in none Christian communities.
Do they play music in their worshiping places for example in a Hindu temple or Muslim mosque?
African Muslim youth right from North Africa to the East African coast have established
what they term as ria and chaabi music accompanied with vigorous low body part wiggling
dance by specifically women.
Please note too that religion is part and parcel of the social life – in a sociologically
meaningful sense. And crisis period through which all people have to go through, require
a relaxed religious environment to overcome .

"Why are drugs attracting more youth than religion and other enjoyments?"
Some qualitatively different questions:
This is an a priori assumption. Has any empirical study been conducted to arrive at such 'a finding'? If so, where is the reference available? Such empirical study, if available, had how big a compass of reach?
Secondly, the question is 'loaded'.
Thirdly, what is 'enjoyment'? Do we have a minimal definitional stance of 'enjoyment'? Besides, where is the evidence that drugs provide enjoyment? There are inter-related issues of addiction, escapism, and the like.
Fourthly, why should youth be attracted to religion?
