An Indian national identified as Patel Katesh, 35, on Tuesday jumped to death from the ninth floor of Galilaya Commercial Plaza on William Street.

Patel, who was working with Good Day Pharmacy, located on the first floor of the same building, allegedly committed suicide at about 10:00am after having a disagreement with fellow workers at the shop.

"His workmates tried to convince him to come down but he slipped off the building as police tried to get closer to him," a witness said.

"We have taken the body to Mulago. We have not yet ascertained the cause to his committing suicide," Kampala Central Police Station boss, James Ruhweza said.

Katesh was married and is survived by a daughter. He had been working in Uganda for three years
