Side-dish Drags Showy Hides and Skins Tycoon Basajjabalaba to Court for Failure to Look after his Own Children

By Stephen K Muwambi

Tycoon Hassan Basajjabalaba has been shamed as a bad father who refused to look after his children like the billionaire he is.

We have it on good authority that Basajja’s side dish Betty Basajja has dragged the Bushenyi born businessman to court to remind him about his responsibilities as a dad.

The matter is now before Makindye Grade one Magistrate George Wakubona Watyekere.

We understand that the magistrate has in the meantime directed Basajja to provide Shs3m to his lover so she  can buy food and pay school fees for the three children identified as Yudaya Basajja, Yasmin Basajja and Jamal Basajja aged ten, six and five years respectively.

Lawyer Epodoi Florence is representing Betty while counsel Obed Mwebesa represents Basajjabalaba.

At one time, Betty applied for the arrest of Basajjabalaba after he skipped court several times on the excuse that he was conducting business outside the country.

However, the magistrate declined to issue the arrest warrant arguing that Basajjabalaba need not be in court all the time since he had a legal representative.

Meanwhile, we learnt that Betty also accuses Basajjabalaba of forcing her into sex on numerous occasions. This allegation is contained in a written statement containing Betty’s testimony.

We shall keep you posted on this matter.
