{UAH} BREAKING NEWS: Monitor MD Asiimwe Finally Fired

Alex Asiimwe, the controversial and passive Monitor Publications Limited managing director, has been asked to leave the company. Unconfirmed reports indicate that the Nation Media Group has a reached a mutual consent deal with Asiimwe, whose two-year tenure at Namuwongo has seen the most tumultuous events in Monitor's 19-year history. Asiimwe will be leaving Monitor on December 31, paving way for a new Monitor with new managers.

Talking of managers, rumours doing the rounds also say Asiimwe's big signing Godrey Mulengi, who was poached from New Vision with a monthly package that can pay 30 UPE teachers in Karamoja for a full year, has been told to prepare to leave. This, too, is yet to be confirmed. However, if it holds, it is likely that Mulengi is being fired either because of some newfound friendship between a manager in Monitor and their counterpart in New Vision, or because his paycheque was simply too much for Monitor to keep running with.
