There are quite a number of factors why some countries got early independence than others and of course one of the major factors was good negotiation skills of traditional political leaders then other things like unfriendly climate, snakes and mosquitoes also contributed a lot for the colonialists to surrender. Areas like the Southern Africa although enjoys the status of independence but one really wonders!
