{UAH} False story on SFC

Dear Friends,

Refer to the Red Pepper story of Wednesday November 6, 2013 titled 'M7
Guard Cited In Works Engineer Murder' on page 7.

In a nutshell, the story seems to suggest or even assert that a member
of the Special Forces Command is a suspect in the murder of the late
Ministry of Works Engineer Patrick Balamu Bisuti which occurred in
Entebbe last week.

The insinuation in that Red Pepper story is without fact, is grossly
misleading and damaging to the reputation and image of the UPDF
Special Forces (SFC). I wish to categorically state (and thereby
refute the assertion in that story) that no personnel whatsoever of
the SFC is or has been identified as a suspect in that heinous crime
that was committed.

The SFC has been in contact with the Police CIID investigating the
case and they have confirmed to us that indeed no member of the SFC is
suspect in this case. For anybody in need of more information on the
progress being made on this case, please contact the police
authorities through its spokespersons (Nabakooba and Onyango).

The SFC, like all upright and rational thinking Ugandans, strongly
abhors and condemns all forms of crime, especially violent crime. We
shall always continue to cooperate and support sister security
agencies especially the Police to ensure that criminals and all forms
of crime in our society are eliminated (according to the laws of
Uganda), or at least minimized.

The struggle continues.

Chris Magezi
Capt
Spokesman SFC
