I have visited Toronto many times and have always been impressed with the civility of the city, compared with US cities. Now we see that Toronto also has its share of trailer trash. "He is one of us," says an interviewee, taking a drag on her cigarette. I would imagine that nice people in Toronto are upset with this turn of events.

 

Succint:

How dare he! He throws his sex life with his wife at the feet of the media and then drags her in front of the cameras - her one and only appearance in his three years as mayor! - with total disregard for her obvious discomfort and embarrassment and then exhorts the media to show respect for his family. If he had any respect for his wife, his children or the citizens of Toronto he'd make a quick and silent exit from public life.

... He has disgraced his family and the longer he is in denial about his disqualification as a leader, the more he continues to humiliate anyone who is connected to him, including the citizens of Toronto !

A:

His poor wife. She looks as if she wanted to have the earth swallow her up where she stood. If Ford truly loved her, he would have never done such a thing to her.

In the film, "The Right Stuff" John Glenn stuck up for his wife and SUPPORTED her when she denied President Johnson from entering her home. She was VERY private shy person and Glen supported her in her decision to lock the president out.
You protect your family, you don't "throw them under the bus" to make your point.

@patricia - apparently you have never had to live in an abusive relationship. If you had, you would recognize it in others pretty damn fast. It is apparent that the last place that woman wanted to be was standing right there next to Mr. Ford. From what I have seen of Ford's public displays he has very little self control. He is also under a huge amount of stress over the scandals that are currently biting him in the #$%$. Men with poor self control and heavy stress become abusive. I would not be surprised at all that if you dug deep enough you would see domestic abuse here too.
