CROATIA: Inventor Announces Creation Of "Anti-Rape" Jeans

A Croation inventor has come up with an unusual garment idea - a pair of anti-rape jeans dubbed "The Grizzly" to give some degree of protection to women against rapists.

Inventor Vladimir Markov has designed the jeans so they can only be opened by the wearer entering a personal number into a coded steel buckle.

If the attacker attempts to open the jeans by force, he will be prevented by the steel wire that forms part of the belt - giving the intended victim time to get away or obtain help.

Markov has been contacted by companies from both the US and India interested in manufacturing the jeans. They will be presented to world at an exhibition of innovations in the US, after which he plans to put them on show at Eureka 2000, the 50th World Exhibition of Innovation, in Brussels, next month.
