{UAH} KIZZA BESIGYE SCOFFS AT EAC SUMMIT, CALLS IT USELESS!
Few minutes away after the 5 EAC's presidents met in Kampala to sign a monetary union protocol, Rtd. Col Dr. Kizza Besigye this will only remain in the books as the most fundamental issues of human rights have not got any place on their table, today! Besigye, fresh from Nagalama police post argues this could be a league of 5 leaders building a block for 'selfish' reasons, not the people they lead. "People don't know even what is taking place apart from seeing Kampala heavily deployed like Moghadishu" rtd. Col said.

THIS IS EAC THAT I DON'T NEED:
Late last night (Friday 29th November), I was brought back home from Nagalama Police Station; where I had been detained for the second time this week. The police van and patrol vehicles that took me there in the morning were the ones that brought me home at 10.30pm. Since being arrested until I was returned home, no one informed me why my freedom was being taken away. Like the previous time, the only evidence of my incarceration is the ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OT PRISONER"S PROPERTY (APP) receipt, which I refused to hand back thus leaving my properties at the police. This is now the Norm.
Today, I had a wedding of my nephew Matthew Kabarega. The wedding was at 3 pm at All Saint's Church, Nakasero. I left home in company of my sisters, Olive Kobusingye and Margaret; only to be told in no uncertain terms that I can't leave home until the EAC Heads of State have finished their business and left the country!
Few Ugandans know about the business that the EAC leaders are negotiating and signing on their behalf. Many people that I interact with in the region fear that EAC is becoming a club of the regions leaders. If this approach is continued, it will mean another catastrophic failure of the EAC. As if this was not enough, it seems that the gathering of EAC leaders in Uganda means I become a prisoner. The Lord Mayor of the city they are visiting is similarly a prisoner. Kampala streets could be mistaken for streets of Mogadishu, by the kind of Police and Military deployments.
If this is what EAC means for us, I don't want to have anything to do with it. I think East African should be patient until we get democratic governments; in order to build lasting EAC that benefits all its people.
