A retired British banker who is facing trial in Uganda for being gay, says he lives in fear of vigilante attacks after clerics drew attention to his case.

Bernard Randall, 65, faces up to seven years in prison for gross indecency and allegedly trafficking obscene material after police found a video on his laptop of him having sex.

Mr Randall, a former analyst with HSBC and Credit Suisse, said he was "happily married" for almost 40 years and was never unfaithful while his wife was alive, although he knew that he was gay.
