Lukwago says Jennifer Musisi wasted Time Swearing in the Four Professional Councilors, argues the Law empowers only the Lord Mayor to do so

Embattled Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago claims the KCCA Executive Director Jennifer Musisi wasted time and money to swear in the new professional councilors.

It's only the Lord Mayor who can preside over the swearing in of councilors under the law; I want Jennifer to point at the law which gave her powers to carry out the exercise?� Lukwago demanded.

Lukwago had vowed not to swear in the four councilors who represent architects, lawyers, medics and engineers prompting Jennifer to take over the exercise.

Turning to the councilors, Lukwago called them impostors ‘because the election process that purportedly brought them into offices was marred by irregularities.’

Legal battle

Meanwhile, Lukwago’s legal team is fine tuning the legal case where they intend to have court trash Justice Catherine Bamugemereire’s tribunal as a kangaaro court and its ruling torn into shreds.

The Lord Mayor’s lead counsel, also the Opposition Shadow Attorney General Abdu Katuntu told us today he was almost done with the paper work.

“I will soon go to court and put a stop to whatever mafia plots that are going on,� Katuntu told the Investigator Political Desk.
