Parliament Set to Send Sejusa a Sour Xmas Gift by Firing Him before the Birth Day of Our Lord
By Stephen K Muwambi
As Parliament resumed the final 2013 business today, we came to learn that AWOL David Sejusa formerly Tinyefuuza will have his fate sealed before Christmas.
Simply put, Parliament will render Sejusa’s representation in the august house history by the time it closes its 2013 business.
Impeccable sources in Parliament told us Sejusa’s will be one of the issues that will have to be sorted out before MPs retire for the Xmas holiday.
Speaker Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga has been under a lot of pressure to relieve Sejusa of the army MP slot, after the renegade general coined a story indicating that his Commander- in -Chief (CIC) Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was plotting to name his son Brig Muhoozi Kainerugaba his political successor.
By the time the CIC ordered that Sejusa was arraigned before the court martial, the troublesome general had crossed boarders into the comfort of London where he continued to send acidic missives.
Having failed to show up in Parliament, as directed by the Speaker to defend his seat, let alone send in his defense, Kadaga will have it easy erasing Sejusa’s name from the parliamentary roll call as well as the pay voucher.
Having not heard from Sejusa, MP Fox Odoi’s committee will have no choice, but to recommend to Kadaga to fire Sejusa and pass word to Dr Badru Kiggundu to organize a by-election for the army to find another suitable representative.
Sejusa ordered his lawyers Joseph Luzige, Ladislus Rwakafuuzi and Fred Mukasa Mbidde not to waste their precious time, ounces of energy and breath defending him before the Odoi committee because, ‘Museveni had sealed his fate in advance.
Accordingly, Sejusa sympathized with Kadaga, saying he would understand if she sent him packing because that is what “Museveni wants after all.
Said and done, we wait to see if kicking Sejusa out of parliament, which is already technically a done job, will stop the man from shooting off his mouth and causing all sorts of problems for Kampala.
And whether government will file for his extradition from wherever he is hiding, if he continues to be problematic so he can be brought back to face several treason charges that have already been lined against him.
