Nov 26, 2013: Journalist Mugaga Kamagu of Top Radio was arrested for inciting violence after hosting deputy Lord Mayor Sulaiman Kidandala in regard to disputed impeachment of Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago. Halima Asijo Athumani was also been briefly detained by Wandegeya Police Station for taking a photo of journalist Kamagu. The day before the Police blocked close to 20 journalists from accessing the City Hall chambers during the stormy impeachment of the Capital City's Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago. The journalists from different media houses engaged the security officers to be allowed entrance in vain. No reason was given by the security agents manning the City Hall Uganda Police Force all will come to end, it is one of the worst forms of violation of media rights and freedoms employed by security agents.

Nov 28th 2013:- A journalist in Luweero spent three days in custody after he was arrested by police. The journalist Musoke Gwavu (30), a freelance correspondent for Radio Simba, was caught up in a police operation to arrest mob justice suspects. Gwavu had rushed to the scene when he heard boda boda riders were beating two men to death thought to be boda boda thieves.
