The police’s Flying Squad Unit has unveiled top city murderers who have been terrorising people with guns who were arrested in the country in its new country wide thunder bolt operation.
Among these are Robert Kato, Sowedi Kiwanuka and Kassim Waswa who were arrested in Matete, Sembabule district where they had been hiding there for close to three months after robbing shs 200m from three Tanzanian Business men at Mutukula border on 28th August.
Another group of thugs led by Frank Kamugisha, Mubangizi John Bosco and Musa Kakooza were arrested in the areas of Bushenyi, Mbarara, Ibanda and Natete in Kampala with a pistol and UPDF uniform gear which they were using to rob residents.
This was while  the Flying squad Boss Charles Kataratambi  was releasing last month’s police crime report where revealed that their intelligence had shown that most of these arrested where  suspected to be the prime heartless people who have been behind the recent  murder wave  which took place in Kisasi, Mukono, Natete, Kiruhura and Bushenyi.
He further said that they found out that most of these thugs have past criminal records and that they  arrested by RRU,VCCU and Wembley  but when taken to court where they were charged and sentenced later after serving their sentences  came back and  started to  rob and murder again.
Kataratambi stated that the  groups were found with fire arms like SMG ,rifles and pistols which all were unmarked and had several rounds of used ammunition  which indicated that they had been using them for a long time to execute their missions
He added that after arresting the first two groups and interrogating them flying squad detectives landed on vital information about the movements of the ring and thus managed to arrest them but cautioned that many others were are still at large but said that they will be too arrested soon.
He said that the suspects will next week be parade in the courts of laws on charges of murder, robbery and illegal possession of fire arms without authorization.
