{UAH} Why Rwanda was reduced to its current very small size by Balyaruha Vincent
During the demarcation exercise, the colonialists contacted the then King of Rwanda Yuhi wa V Musinga (November 1896 – November 12, 1931) about the size of Rwanda. Yuhi Musinga shocked everyone when he announced that "the whole world is Rwanda"
King Yuhi's statement meant that "Rwanda had no boundaries".In their backdoor meetings, the colonist realised that the ruling Tutsi were an ambitious and very stubborn ethnic group and a potential future threat to their newly created colonial boundaries. The colonialists resolved to teach them a lesson by weakening and reducing Rwanda into a very small and manageable state.
However over time, Rwanda has proved to be a consistent threat to the colonial boundaries by trying to expand her territory and influence to neighboring states of Congo, Uganda ,Tanzania and Kenya.
