SV: {UAH} Fw: Besigye for 'Acting President'

Fellow UAH Folks: Politics is a Contract of Social Compromise,
First, I hope Mw
Ndebesa of History & Development Studies at Makerere University, does understands that Politics is a norm of compromise between a Society or folks. We cannot traverse in politics without thinking of give and take as a way forward. In Uganda, since the NRA/M went to the Luwero triangle jungle and coming to power meant political opposition to this new body means being enemies of Uganda.
Second, without compromise, I think there would not be some form of understanding for the betterment of our dear country Uganda whereby being opposed to a certain political thinking would means one is a complete enemy. Folks or politicians the world over have political difficulties but, they have to get compromise as a way forward for their countries!
Lastly, this means, M7 and his NRA/M0 must think for the future of the whole Ugandans. I think, fighting LUKWAGO to the last drop of blood would not be good for the whole Ugandan. Unfortunately, very many intellectual Ugandans for the continuous 28 plus years continued to pursue the blind politics of regional or tribal appendages meanwhile trying to talk and, or venture into international political area.
YES, the late MADIBA (RIP) had a large heart meanwhile in Uganda, we have regional and, or tribal appendage and we call it 'politics for development' in Uganda!
The politics in Uganda for the continuous 28 years plus and still counting had been the politics of NO RETURN since it had turned to be a matter of LIFE AND DEATH. This is why the epilogues by Mw Ndebesa cannot function in Uganda, but only in South Africa where the late MADIBA (RIP) operated the politics of compromise for their Rainbow Nation.

As we mourn a genuine revolutionary Nelson Mandela let us reflect on the virtues of magnanimity, bigheartedness, tolerance, unselfishness and justice that he did not only believe in but practiced.  As you may recall there is a time when Mandela and his vice were both going out of the country at the same time. What did he do!. He left behind his nemeses and arch rival  Mongosuthu Buthelezi of the Inkatha Freedom party as Acting president. Fancy a situation when Museveni would leave behind Kiiza Besigye as Acting President!. Mandela accepted to work with de Klerk the former president who represented a system that imprisoned and tormented him in prison for 27 years. Fancy a situation where Obote would serve as the vice president of  Museveni in the NRM  unity  government!.

As we reflect on the Mandela departure let  the politicians in Uganda learn how to tolerate each other for the sake of national integration and to create an atmosphere for evolving national consensus values.

Ndebesa
