{UAH} Christmas Booze Kills 3 In Luweero

At least three people were killed and three others critically injured in accidents on Christmas day in greater Luweero district as a result of excessive alcohol consumption, the police has said. According to police two motorcycles died in Kapeeka town council after they were involved in a head on collusion.
The deceased have been identified as Ssesanga Matooke and Anatoli Tomanya who were riding motorcycle number UDZ 115X and UDY 455 Y respectively. Ssesanga is resident of Bulega village in Kapeeka Sub County while Tomanya Anatoli is resident of Nakawa, Kampala who had gone to the area to celebrate Christmas.
Edward Kyaligonza, the Nakaseke District Police Commander says the motorcycle passengers he identifies as Muhamadi Mayanja and Rukiza Mutooro and a one Wasswa survived with wounds and are currently admitted at Nakaseke Hospital. Kyaligonza blames the accident on Ssesanga Matooke who was riding recklessly under the heavy influence of alcohol while celebrating Christmas.
The third person David Ssewakiryanga was killed in hit and run accident at Kakooge town council. Dick Ayesigomwe, the Nakasongola district Police Commander explains that Ssewakiryanga was hit by unidentified vehicle when he entered the road unexpected.
Godfrey Ninsiima, the Luweero District Police Commander describes the day as largely peaceful. He however, says they recorded five cases of assault, possession of opium, counterfeits and malicious damage to property.
He says two suspects have been arrested in connection to the crimes and praised the public for vigilance and observation of laws.
Charles Ssebyala, the Luweero Town council LC 3 chairperson and Kakooge sub county LC 3 vice chairperson Gaster Musisi Yawe also praised police for maintaining security but asked it to keep the same spirit even after the festive season.
