Igor Urrutikoetxea Bilbao, International Relations Secretary of the Basque trade union central Langile Abertzaleen Batzordeak (LAB, Nationalist Workers' Committees), General Secretary of the Trade Union International Metal & Mining, and an official of the World Federation of Trade Unions, unexpectedly passed away at the age of 38, on 28 November in Brazil. The National Democratic Front of the Philippines expresses heartfelt condolences to the family, comrades and friends of Comrade Igor.
We salute Comrade Igor as a proletarian internationalist, and honor his contributions as a committed fighter for the Basque nationalist movement and the class conscious trade union movement. His loss will be deeply felt, but we are assured that the legacy of his work and commitment will be carried on by his family, comrades and friends until the victory of our common struggle for national and social liberation.
