Prof. Kagonyera Awards Americans with Degree of Ignorance as Sixteen Eminent Personalities are Bestowed with Honorary Professorship and Doctorate degrees
By Robert Ndawula
Sixteen eminent Ugandans who have excelled in business, scientific research and judicial circles, have been rewarded with Honorary Doctorates and Professorships at Serena Hotel by the United Graduate College and Seminary.
The group has been awarded degrees, not for hours spent in lecture rooms but for the extra ordinary achievements and the services they render to the community.
Speaking at the event, Prof. George Mondo Kagonyera congratulated grandaunds upon the achievement and advised them to live the honor and not to associate with diminishing acts, before he called Americans ignorant, first on themselves and then the rest of the world.
Kagonyera gave justice Bamwine credit for his efforts as regards transforming the information system of the country. However, he later reminded him how corrupt his sector was.

The Makerere University chancellor sent the audience into laughter when quoting his tribe proverb; "Bakiga have no kings but whenever u find them, honor them," he afterward tasked the business gurus to produce the kind of products they expect from Universities.

Speaking on behalf of Grandaunts, Patrick Bitature credited college dropouts for creating employment to the learned, stressing the fact that there is no lack of lawyers, teachers, doctors among other professionals but the pressing need of more job creators in Uganda.
