Comment on the gay community's appeal to President Museveni NOT to sign the Anti Homosexuality bill that was passed by parliament? Should the President sign it in your Opinion?
The gay community has appealed to President Yoweri Museveni not to assent to the Anti Homosexuality bill that was passed by parliament on Friday last week. The Bill seeks to establish comprehensive legislation to protect the traditional family in accordance with the local value system. The Anti- Homosexuality Bill prohibits any form of sexual relations between persons of the same sex, the promotion or recognition of such sexual relations in public institutions and other places through or with the support of any government entity in Uganda or outside the country.
Article 91 of the Constitution requires the President to assent to a bill passed by Parliament within 30 days from the date it is presented to him.
