President Yoweri Museveni arrived in Kenya this afternoon ahead of the 3rd extraordinary session of the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Assembly of Heads of State and Government (IGAD) over the political crisis in Africa's youngest nation, South Sudan and how peace can be restored in that country.

To date countries with citizens in South Sudan including Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda who have been doing business in Juba and other regions of Southern Sudan, are being evacuated.
President Museveni was received on arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by Uganda's High Commissioner to Kenya, Ms. Angelina Wapakhabulo and the Cabinet Secretary for Oil and Petroleum of Kenya, Hon. Davis Chirchir.
