{UAH} Nigerian man arrested with Ugandan passport in Kenya
A man of unknown nationality shocked a city court with his mix of Nigerian and Ugandan accents.
The man, in a rugged hooded jumper, was accused of keeping a Ugandan passport with the name John Kamwanda, which the Ugandan Embassy claimed was not his.
It is alleged that on December 7, at JKIA, he produced the passport while seeking to travel to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Ugandan authorities claim the passport had forged immigration stamps from two different countries on its pages. He denied all three charges. "Very very untrue," said the man in his Ugandan-Nigerian mixed accent.
The prosecution protested against any form of bond for the man, saying that they needed to know his real name and nationality.
My father is Nigerian. Check with the embassies," he said while asking for bond.
Senior principal magistrate Lucy Mbugua however withheld bond.
The case will be mentioned on January 21 when the immigration department will have identified the man
