{UAH} Rukirabasaija Omukama of Bunyoro-Kitara sends Xmas and New Year greetings and well wishes to all Ugandans

The Omukama of Bunyoro-Kitara, Rukirabasaija Agutamba, Solomon Gafabusa Iguru has sent Xmas and New year's warm greetings and well wishes to all Ugandans on the occasion of celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ and on marking new year, 1914.

On the occasion to celebrate the birth of Jesus the Omukama said, " Let the newly born Jesus bring peace and joy to all Ugandans, more particularly to those in his kingdom Bunyoro-Kitara....let this be the occasion where all Ugandans feel the brotherhood bond....for we are one country."

As for the new year, 2014, the Omukama said, he is very happy to note that year 2014 promises to be the year Uganda's long-awaited oil production programme will take a giant step, that of finalising arrangements to begin the construction of the region's largest oil refinery. He notes with appreciation that the country has announced that over 80 world-renown oil companies have shown interest in the country's oil industry by applying to get licenses to construct the oil refinery and to lay the pipelines which will transport the oil.

He said it gives him joyful feelings to see that the crucial step in oil production, the construction of the oil refinery and the laying of pipelines is being taken at last after stalling for years.

However, despite the king feeling very happy at the new developments in the oil industry he notes with concern that his kingdom's demand for a birth-right , constitutional share of the oil revenues has not yet been addressed.

He concludes by saying that, "I am hopeful justice will be done for Bunyoro-Kitara kingdom as it is done in all other countries where oil has been found"
