TNA will use and dump you, Keter warns Ruto

NANDI Hills MP Alfred Keter has warned Deputy President William Ruto to be careful with his coalition partner in the Jubilee alliance.

Keter said The National Alliance wing of the coalition may use and then later dump him when President Uhuru Kenyatta finishes his first five-year term and if he gets elected for the second and final term.

Ruto's United Republican Party and TNA are the major partners in Jubilee alongside other fringe parties.

The MP said the "sycophants" around Ruto make it difficult for him to understand the kind of people he was dealing with as coalition partners.

"Ruto knows the truth but he is being blinded by the sycophants who surround him. He is being misled under the guise of going slow on crucial issues affecting the people in the pretext that he will inherit the presidency from Uhuru the same way (former President Daniel) Moi did from the founding president," Keter said.

He was addressing journalists at the Stanley hotel in Nairobi yesterday.

"But we are telling him that things have changed with the new constitution where elections are mandatory. Who told him that if Uhuru serves ten years and leaves he is guaranteed to inherit him?" Keter said.

During Monday's public rally in Eldoret , Uhuru said he will rule for 10 years before Ruto takes over from him for another 10 years

But Keter views this statement as a blindfolding tactic to hoodwink Ruto.

He said the masses in Rift Valley are complaining of being left out of key government appointments, a matter he expected Uhuru and Ruto to address when they visited the area but they instead chose to attack him.

"Jubilee is my government and I love it because I got elected under its ticket. I expected the President and Deputy President to address the real issues affecting the people but Keter became their line of attack. It is only simple minds that discuss people and I want to tell Kenyans that I have a role to play in the National Assembly as a representative of the people," Keter said.
